This special presentation highlights the vibrant cultural heritage of Historic Overtown within one of Miami’s most dynamic public spaces. Featuring three mobile, interactive mural replicas of permanent artworks installed throughout Overtown, the exhibition engages travelers, airport staff, and the broader community through art, technology, and storytelling.

Explore the Murals: Overtown: Our Family Tree – Anthony “Mojo” Reed II, International Longshoremen Local 1416 – Reginald O’Neal, and Overtown Pitch: Game Changers – Stefan Smith. Each piece blends visual storytelling, oral histories, and
augmented reality.

Through augmented reality, QR-activated oral
histories, and digital storytelling, the murals amplify the voices of community members, historians, artists, and cultural leaders. This initiative expands public access to Black Miami’s history while transforming the airport into a space for cultural reflection and civic pride.
Miami MoCAAD’s Interactive Mural Initiative brings together art, activism, and oral history to celebrate the African Diaspora in Miami and foster dialogue across communities and generations.
