This special presentation highlights the vibrant cultural heritage of Historic Overtown within one of Miamiβs most dynamic public spaces. Featuring three mobile, interactive mural replicas of permanent artworks installed throughout Overtown, the exhibition engages travelers, airport staff, and the broader community through art, technology, and storytelling.

augmented reality.

Through augmented reality, QR-activated oral
histories, and digital storytelling, the murals amplify the voices of community members, historians, artists, and cultural leaders. This initiative expands public access to Black Miamiβs history while transforming the airport into a space for cultural reflection and civic pride.
Miami MoCAADβs Interactive Mural Initiative brings together art, activism, and oral history to celebrate the African Diaspora in Miami and foster dialogue across communities and generations.
