What We Celebrated Together

A decade of art, innovation, and community.
Ten years ago, Miami MoCAAD lived only in imagination. Last night, you stood in the heartbeat of Overtown witnessing how far this dream has come.

A powerful investment in the future.
The Overtown CRA’s historic commitment of $25 million to transform the former Women’s Detention Center into our permanent home is a moment none of us will forget. From a symbol of confinement to a beacon of culture — this is the future we’re building together.

Record-breaking generosity.
During this year’s Give Miami Day, over $110,000 was raised by more than 100 donors. That achievement belongs to the entire Miami MoCAAD village.

Innovation that expands access.
Guests explored our new VR art exhibitions, created with the University of Miami CoLab students and the MUD Foundation — taking art beyond walls and into the world.

Community leadership.
We were honored to share the night with Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Commissioner Keon Hardemon, Chairwoman Christine King, Black Archives CEO Kamila Pritchard, and so many other leaders who believe deeply in this work.
